4 Ways to Get Your Home Ready to Sell by Spring

With the new year upon us, many are taking the time to plan their resolutions. If you’re goal for 2018 is to sell your home, I’ve compiled some tips for preparing it to sell.

It’s never too early to begin prepping your home to sell, and planning ahead is key. That’s why I’ve come up with four easy ways to begin preparing your home to sell. These tips don’t cover every single aspect of selling your home, but they’re a great way to get the ball rolling.

If you have any questions about selling your home in Broomfield, please reach out to me! For now, here’s four simple ways to begin getting your home ready to sell.

Do Some Spring Cleaning… Before Spring!

One of the first, and most important, steps to staging your home is thoroughly decluttering it. You can begin this step as early as you would like. In fact, we recommend beginning early because you may be surprised by just how much you’ve accumulated over the years!

Go through each room of your home and get rid of everything you don’t use or have outgrown. If it’s gently worn or still usable, consider donating it to a local charity or selling it on eBay. Many organizations like Good Will will even take ripped or broken clothing, because they can still use the raw materials.

That shirt your Aunt gifted you and you’ve never worn? eBay. The knick knacks collecting dust in your guest bedroom? Good Will. Be as thorough as possible.

Perform Some Smaller Home Improvements

Faucet with running water. There are plenty of smaller, cost-effective ways to update your home’s interior and spice things up a bit! Consider changing out any traditional light switches with dimmers. You could also replace all the faucets throughout your home.

Upgrade your home’s interior design by painting your living room walls or polishing any dusty doorknobs.

Begin planning your curb appeal. Get rid of any unsightly tree stumps and consider adding a bird bath or tidying up your foliage. You want to impress potential buyers the minute they set eyes on your property.

Research the Market

Whether it’s checking up on recently sold homes in your neighborhood or doing a quick Google search about the real estate market, it’s important to know as much as you can about the market before listing your home.

I also offer a complimentary home evaluation to determine the best price for your home in today’s market.

Find Your Realtor

Although it’s possible to sell your home without the help of a real estate professional, it may end up costing you more in the long run.
