6 Broomfield Holiday Events to Get You in the Festive Spirit

We’re in the midst of the holiday season, and although Broomfield has already celebrated with the holiday tree lighting and photos with Santa, there’s still plenty more to enjoy around the area before the festive season ends.

Here are the last few Broomfield holiday events that you won’t want to miss out on.

Zoo Lights

When: Nov. 29th – Dec. 30th, 5:30pm – 8:30pm

Where: Denver Zoo

What: For almost 30 years, the Denver Zoo has been transforming their space into a dazzling winter wonderland. This year’s Zoo Lights theme is Illuminated with Life, and you can expect over two million spread across 80 acres of the zoo, twinkling and sparkling as they light up the sky. Plus, if you swing by on the 14th or 15th, you might even have a chance of catching Santa himself!

You’ll also find ice carving artisans, animal demos and keeper talks, a giant grass maze, and a holiday shopping bazaar.

Larimer Square Holiday Market

When: Dec. 11th – 15th, 12pm – 5pm

Where: Larimer Square, Denver

What: The trek to Denver is well-worth it for the Holiday Market in historic Larimer Square. There’ll be over 50 local creators and vendors selling their wares, as well as a pop-up bar dubbed the Larimer Chalet.

The bar will also be hosting special holiday bashes for a few nights, featuring unlimited festive cocktail sampling, live music, and special BOGO deals.

Winter Artist Market

When: Dec. 14th, 10:30am – 6:30pm

Where: Balefire Goods, Arvada

What: Still searching for the last few gifts on your list but don’t want to head all the way into Denver? Check out the Winter Artist Market in Arvada, where you’ll find work from ceramicists, artists, metalsmiths, and more. You won’t find gifts like these anywhere else—and there’ll also be plenty of festive food and drinks!

Gingerbread House Bonanza

When: Dec. 14th, 2pm – 4pm

Where: William Oliver’s Publick House, Lafayette

What: Hosted by Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project, the Gingerbread House Bonanza is a competition open to participants of all ages. Once you register for the event, you’ll be granted all of the building supplies you need, free of charge. Flights of Crooked Stave beers will be just $5, and the winning house will be awarded a gift card to the pub.

A Christmas Carol

When: Dec. 21st, 7pm

Where: Broomfield Auditorium

What: Celebrate the season with a performance of the holiday classic A Christmas Carol, put on at the Broomfield Auditorium. Tickets are on sale now!

Polar Express Story Time

When: Dec. 21st

Where: Broomfield Depot Museum

What: This is one of the coziest Broomfield holiday events of the year! The Broomfield Depot Museum will be hosting two, hour-long sessions for readings of The Polar Express. Holiday goodies like hot chocolate and warm cookies will be served up during the story, and guests are encouraged to come out in their favorite pajamas.
